2000

Creation of the DBO Expert company

After more than three years of discussions with Presby Environmental, four people join together to found DBO Expert. In its very first year, the team completes more than 16 installations with the Enviro))Septic technology.

2001

Québec's Ministry of the Environment assigns a technical data sheet to the Enviro))Septic pipe equating it to an infiltration chamber.

2002

First Enviro))Septic technology benchmark

In collaboration with the ministry, the team sets up a test to not only demonstrate that Enviro))Septic is an advanced secondary treatment technology, but also show that it distributes wastewater better over the entire treatment surface than conventional installations.

2004

In light of the results obtained with the Enviro))Septic technology on the Stoke benchmark test, in Québec’s Estrie region, and the recommendations of a committee of experts in wastewater treatment, the Québec Environment Ministry grants the advanced secondary treatment certification under Québec standard NQ 3680-910 Autonomous treatment systems for isolated residences to DBO Expert.

DBO Expert is also awarded a technical data sheet for installations over 3,240 L / d.

2005

Building on its success in Québec, the team launches its technology in Ontario and Western Canada.

2008

DBO Expert begins to market the Advanced Enviro))Septic technology, starting with an Enviro))Septic line equipped with a bio-accelerator that improves the system's effectiveness. This new technology is tested by the Bureau de normalisation du Québec, in Québec City, with a goal of obtaining the Québec NQ 3680-910 Autonomous treatment systems for isolated residences standard certification.

2010

Following 12 months of benchmark tests by the CEBEDEAU, the Belgium research and expertise centre for water, the Advanced Enviro))Septic technology is certified under the NE-12566-A3 European standard; this certifies that it is the most efficient passive technology in terms of purification in the European market. The French and the Belgians grant it the Most Innovative Technology on the Market award!

2012

Following the approval for Belgium, DBO Expert creates its first subsidiary in France and requests approval from the French certification bureau. The latter later becomes the cornerstone of international development.

2014

Through word of mouth, the requests start pouring it for the new technology. DBO Expert sets up a division dedicated to international development. The African market opens up, starting with Algeria and Morocco.

2017

Following several benchmark tests around the world, DBO Expert continues its international development in countries where water and water treatment are desperately needed. Its simplicity, lack of maintenance and energy requirement make the System O)) solutions a perfect fit for the peoples of South America, sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East.

2018

DBO Expert submits the System O)) concept to the Bureau de normalisation du Québec, in Québec City, to obtain accreditation for Québec and Canadian standards. The results are most conclusive making it possible, among other things, to increase the hydraulic load on the pipes and thereby reduce cost for owners.

2019

The launch of System O)) solutions sends a shock wave across the Québec market. In addition to obtaining Québec and Canadian certifications, a technical data sheet is awarded by the Québec Environment Ministry, making available a passive phosphorus removal and disinfection System O)) solution.

2021

DBO Expert is sold to the incumbent general manager, Nicolas Fournier, by its owner, Benoit Boucher.

As DBO International extends its operations in international markets under Mr. Boucher, Mr. Fournier continues to support DBO Expert's growth in Canadian markets.
